The Performance Music curriculum is designed and reviewed in consultation with current industry standards, relevant General Capabilities specified in the Australian Curriculum, comparative standards set by the Australian Music Examinations Board, as well as instrumental music education models throughout Australia and overseas.
The curriculum is designed for delivery through several nested, progressive aspects; these include Specialist Tuition, Cohort Workshops, Small and Large Ensembles.
Each aspect of the curriculum is designed to assist the student in further developing their individual Self-Guided Learning. Examples may include planning and maintaining a personal practice routine, developing critical listening, demonstrating self-analysis and problem solving, etc.
This is the most important aspect of the student’s learning within Performance Music; their progress in other learning activities will be directly affected by the effectiveness of their self-guided learning.
